Bali Private Day Boat Charter: Full-Day Rates & Route

A Bali private day boat charter puts a whole motorized boat — captain, fuel and crew included — under your group alone for one full day, typically IDR 8,000,000 to IDR 44,500,000 (about USD 500–2,500) depending on vessel size. Most run 07:00 hotel pickup to roughly 17:45 drop, Sanur to Nusa Penida.

You are not buying a seat. You are buying the boat, the day, and the route — snorkel Manta Bay in the morning, lunch on Penida, sunset back to Sanur, with nobody else’s schedule stapled to yours. Baruna Boat Co arranges these day trips through Bali Premium Trip and its vetted licensed boat partners; we book and coordinate, the local operators own and captain the vessels.

How much does a Bali private day boat charter cost?

Private day charters are priced per boat, not per head. You pay one rate whether two people or twelve step aboard, which is why small groups and families do the maths and choose the whole boat over shared seats.

Published 2026 rates, all quoted “start from” and subject to change, run roughly like this:

Vessel / type Guests Full-day rate (per boat, 2026) Approx USD
12m speedboat (Sanur Water Activities) up to ~12 from IDR 8,000,000 ~USD 500
13m semi-yacht, air-con cabin (Sanur Water Activities) up to ~12 from IDR 9,000,000 ~USD 560
Monohull SW3 (Parahu.com) 15 IDR 11,900,000 ~USD 745
Private Nusa Penida yacht (Bluuu Tours) small group from IDR 13,000,000 ~USD 750
Monohull RS (Parahu.com) 12 IDR 16,500,000 ~USD 1,030
Catamaran JEM (Parahu.com) 14 IDR 34,500,000 ~USD 2,155
JA (Parahu.com) 35 IDR 44,500,000 ~USD 2,780

Sanur Water Activities (Heaven’s Corner) lists its 12-metre speedboat from IDR 8,000,000 — Bluetooth speaker, sun deck with bean bags — and a 13-metre semi-yacht from IDR 9,000,000 with an air-con cabin, karaoke and flat TV. Parahu.com publishes a full per-boat Nusa Penida pricelist that tops out with the 35-guest JA at IDR 44,500,000 (quoted for 25 guests, each extra guest IDR 1,000,000) and takes WhatsApp bookings on +62 82118391289. Bluuu Tours lists private Nusa Penida yacht tours from IDR 13,000,000, about USD 750. Blue Marlin Bali advertises its Accura 39 from USD 950 for an 8-hour full day to Nusa Penida, and from USD 750 for a 4-hour sunset or coastal cruise carrying up to 17 guests.

What does a full private day on the water look like?

The crossing from Sanur to Nusa Penida takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes by speedboat, which leaves most of the day for water. Sanur Water Activities publishes this sample Sanur-to-Penida schedule, and it is a fair template for the full-day trips we arrange:

Time What happens
07:00 Hotel pickup (extra IDR 250,000 per car)
08:00 Briefing at the Sanur counter
08:30 Cast off
09:30 Swim with manta rays, Manta Bay
10:30 Snorkel session two
11:30 Snorkel session three
12:00 Lunch at Maruti Beach Club
14:00 Kelingking Beach
15:00 Broken Beach
16:00 Final snorkel
17:00 Sail back to Sanur
17:45 Hotel drop-off

That is eight to ten hours of boat time. On a private charter every one of those stops is negotiable — swap the land tour for a slow Lembongan mangrove drift, add a reef-fishing hour, or hold at Crystal Bay longer if the water is calm.

What’s included in the charter price?

Full-day per-boat rates from the operators above generally bundle the essentials so you are not nickel-and-dimed at the jetty. Typical inclusions:

  • Licensed captain and crew for the day
  • Fuel for the published route
  • Snorkelling masks, fins and life jackets
  • Lunch (for example the Maruti Beach Club stop above) on itineraries that list it
  • Drinking water and cool box on most vessels

Usually quoted separately, so ask before you confirm: hotel pickup and drop-off (Sanur Water Activities charges IDR 250,000 per car), Nusa Penida land-tour cars and entrance donations, and any extra guests beyond a boat’s base headcount. We put every line in writing on your quote so there are no jetty surprises.

Where can a one-day charter actually take you?

One day, one boat, three broad playgrounds:

  • Nusa Penida snorkel — Manta Point / Manta Bay, Crystal Bay and Toyapakeh. Manta sightings are seasonal and never guaranteed; a good captain reads the swell and moves you to the reef that is working that morning.
  • Nusa Penida land tour — Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach and Angel Billabong, reached by car once you dock.
  • Nusa Lembongan — the Yellow Bridge and the mangroves for a calmer, shallower half-day.
  • South-Bali coast — Uluwatu, Jimbaran Bay, Tanjung Benoa and Nusa Dua for groups who want a shorter run with no island crossing.

Private whole-boat or shared fast-boat — which are you booking?

This trips up a lot of first-time bookers. A shared fast-boat sells you a seat: a Viator Nusa Penida premium day, for instance, lists from USD 73.62 per person with private hotel pickup at IDR 300,000 per car each way for up to five people. Cheap per head, but you sail on someone else’s clock with strangers aboard.

A private whole-boat day charter is the opposite trade. You commit one per-boat rate, and the day is yours — your pace, your stops, your group only. For four or more travellers the private boat often lands close to the shared per-seat total, with none of the queueing. If your real need is only a one-way transfer to Lembongan, a shared fast-boat is the honest cheaper answer, and we will tell you so.

How does booking a private day charter work?

  1. Message the concierge with your date, group size and preferred departure — Sanur, Serangan or Benoa.
  2. Get matched to a vessel and a same-day-structure quote, with the 07:00-to-17:45 timeline and every inclusion itemised.
  3. Confirm the itinerary, headcount and any add-ons (land tour, fishing, extra guests) in writing.
  4. Secure the date with a deposit through the operator’s booking channel.
  5. Receive pickup details the day before, then sail.
